BioCloner Health Supports the Development of Research Technologies at Polish Universities

Recently, our company successfully implemented its original 3D bioprinting technology by introducing the BioCloner Desktop Pro at the Medical University of Warsaw (WUM) and the AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków.
On November 6th, the advanced 3D bioprinter was handed over to the Faculty of Pharmacy at WUM, under the leadership of Professor Joanna Kolmas. Similarly, on November 12th, another BioCloner Desktop Pro left our company and joined the team led by Professor Ewa Stodolak Zych from the Department of Biomaterials and Composites at AGH's Faculty of Materials Science and Ceramics.

Thanks to the flexibility in adapting printheads, the 3D bioprinter has perfectly met the needs of researchers in both fields. At the Medical University of Warsaw, it is being used in the development of new medicaments, while at AGH, it has proven its capabilities in technical sciences. This versatile device is an excellent fit for any laboratory and experts from various scientific disciplines.

The BioCloner Desktop Pro will also be part of a collaborative project between the Medical University of Warsaw and the Warsaw University of Technology. This cooperation combines skills and knowledge from two distinct fields. The partnership between a medical university and a technical university aims to harness the potential of 3D bioprinting to set new standards in medicines production. Bringing together the expertise of specialists from both institutions accelerates the development of interdisciplinary research. It also fosters lasting connections between these academic environments, supporting further technological and scientific advancement.

How Was the Introduction of BioCloner Desktop Pro at WUM?

BioCloner Health experts conducted detailed training sessions on operating our machine to prepare the research team for working with 3D bioprinting technology. Through these workshops, the researchers gained the knowledge and skills necessary for the safe and efficient use of the device, enabling a convenient start to testing.

This implementation marks a significant step forward in research on the future of pharmacy, including the potential for medicament printing. Our goal is to join forces with scientists to develop a method that, through 3D bioprinting, would enable the production of custom-made medications. This would speed up the manufacturing process and allow therapies to be precisely tailored to individual patient needs.

We aim to support advancements in pharmacy, particularly in the personalization of medication therapies, which could lead to more effective treatments. Medications designed with a specific patient in mind can better address their unique health requirements. This is precisely our focus—by collaborating with the Faculty of Pharmacy team, we hope this research will contribute to the development of new, more personalized treatment methods.

How Was the Introduction of BioCloner Desktop Pro at AGH?

The implementation of the BioCloner Desktop Pro at AGH began with a two-day workshop conducted by the BioCloner Health team. During this time, our engineers provided a thorough explanation of the machine's operation. The training sessions were attended by both academic staff and second- and third-degree students.

The workshops also inspired excellent and innovative ideas, creating a valuable opportunity for exchanging experiences in the development of medical technologies. The AGH team showed great interest in exploring the potential of 3D bioprinting and the features offered by our device. BioCloner technology supports researchers in various areas, including the development of wound dressings, cell scaffolds, and other tissue engineering constructs. This collaboration promises to advance research and foster innovation in these crucial fields.
